Coming to Nest?

We're really excited you are joining us on our mission to bring fabulous costumes to Nestlings!

There are many ways to get involved in Camp Costume Camp, from leading on elements of organisation, helping with décor, to giving fashion advice and makeovers. We expect a fair proportion of campers to be available for either build or strike, and everyone must share in shifts throughout the festival to keep our costume emporium in order and keep our camp mates well fed and sane (enough).

IMPORTANT: we are a light-hearted camp which priority is to have a lot of giggles and fun with each other!

You will find here details we need to know to plan the camp, take good care of you and feed you delicious food! Knowing when you are on site will help us plan for build, strike and meals each day to keep the camp running and keep everyone alive.

2025 Dates

Gate opens on Monday, May 26th to Monday and the event ends on Monday June 02nd. CCC build crew will arrive from the Friday before the event, May 23rd. We aim to strike and leave by end of day on Monday June 2nd.

Fees

Camp fees cover food, communal camp infrastructure, build and transportation costs. We also fundraise – I mean "fun-raise"! – to help reduce some of the costs with costumes and transport. Full camp fees remain £130 (the same as last year and the year before), with a reduced fee of £80 for those who are less flush.

Shifts / Rota

We need to fill up a lot of shifts to make the whole camp functional and each member is expected to take 4 or 5 shifts across different areas, at least 2 of them in the kitchen or washing up. Alternatively, you can take a Super Day Lead shift, for which you will have 3 lead roles in one for a day and oversee that the whole camp is functional. On top of shifts, everyone is expected to help with LNT and other community tasks. We also need help pre-event and post-event: every little helps!

Meals

Our AWARD winner kitchen is mostly vegetarian with vegan options offering brunch and dinner, with self-help breakfast for early birds and occasional snacks. Yes, we can do gluten free! We will try to cater too all preferences as much as possible, but recipe planning is very hard with large groups.

In this form, we will ask about allergen and sensitivities as healthy and safely factor. Please do let us know through this form, and you can also help us with making something delicious that aligns with your gastronomical aspirations!

Comms

We have a few Zoom meetings leading up to the event, we organise ourselves through a "spreadshit" (best accessed through a computer) and also chat through signal groups. Please let us know if you need any alternative to these!

We can't wait to burn with you!
